Post 4th of July

Well my plans for the 4th
were simple.
Beach with family.
If I had time to do some
baking or decorating it would be fun.

I made some chocolate dipped Oreo pops
that turned into chocolate swirled Oreo pops,
because the sticks were to wide for the Oreo
and the chocolate didn't melt fully.
I had great reviews though.
Compare below

See, they were terrible!
But tasted delicious.
Then we made some 4th of July shirts.

I somehow managed to not take a
picture of mine.
So I'll tell you.
I had USA in white block letters
on the front.
And behind it I had blue strips horizontally
on the left hand upper corner, like the flag
and red strips on the rest of the front, like the flag.
It was adorable.

Anyway I also tried to make these firecracker cookies,

Sugar cookies with icing and Pop Rocks.
Well the cookies came out lumpy and not
circular, and not picture perfect.
But they were gone before I could snap
a picture so I guess that is a good sign.
All in all it was a great day,
possible my favorite holiday.
I am still on vacation enjoying the beach
so I will catch up with you later.

Best Wishes,

4th of July

Basically my life is Pinterest.
Well, I think it is but mostly its
the Pinterest Nailed It section.
But I am hoping this weekend
turns out pinterest perfect!

My very good friend and I are spending the
4th together along with our families and
we decided to make shirts this year!
Our Pinspiration

We haven't decided to match or to
each do our own, so we will see how it goes.
I got all the supplies
shirts, paint, I saw one example used
a cookie cutter to make shapes,
so that is what I bought.
Anyway I also got a TON of glow sticks.
And now I have to decide if I want to make
a dessert or snack of some sort.
These are my options.
Pop Rocks sugar cookies?

Chocolate Pretzels?

Chocolate covered Oreo pops?

Or chocolate dipped strawberries?
I want to do something simple.
But they all have a measure of time consuming.

Anyway those are my plans.
A day at the beach with friends and family,
yummy food, fireworks and DIY shirts.

Best Wishes and Stay Safe!

Dinner Plans

Do you ever get so busy,
the thought of doing something freaks you out?

I'm about 3 days away from that.
Which is why I'm taking a few days off.
Before I check out for the next week I thought I'd
share a recipe and some 4th of July stuff.
I'll put the 4th stuff on a different post.

Anyway I made my families go to dinner
the other night and it looked so
good I wanted to share it.

My family loves pasta!
So the meal obviously includes that.
1 box of pasta ( I like penne noodles for this)
3 small red peppers
2 chicken breasts or 4 cutlets
Fresh baby spinach

Easy ingredients.
Cook the chicken in a large frying pan.
Mix in the red peppers sliced.
Cook with Olive oil or Grapeseed.
These Grapeseed Oil's from Wildtree are yummy!
Especially the Roasted Garlic.

Cook the pasta.
Mix in the spinach with the chicken and
red peppers.
You want the red peppers to be soft.
Mix in the pasta,
either in a bowl or in the pot.
You might need to add more oil.
Season with salt and pepper.
I added some Italian Herb seasoning.
And Parmesan cheese on top!
Yummy!

Best Wishes

Summer Camp!

I have never been to an
 overnight summer camp.
Only day camps and only dance or VBS.
But I have always wanted to go!
I just watched "Camp Takota" on
Netflix written by Mamrie Hart
a pretty famous Youtuber.
It was pretty funny.

And I'm working a summer
dance camp this week.
The kids are pretty funny and fun to hang out with
I also get to hang with my Bestie
so its pretty awesome.
Summer so far has been full of school,
work, crafts, and the beach.
Today though this little girl is playing
and starts singing Les Mis.
"If the beating of the Heart,
echos the beating of the drum,
.......
People who will not be slaves again"
It was adorable.

Happy Summer!

Canvas Inspiration

I think this is just turning into a blog
about crafts.
Who cares! Crafts are awesome!
My latest canvas piece.
I found this really cool canvas art on
Pinterest, where it was painted these awesome
colors, then they put tape over it and spray painted
it gold. So the colors under came through when the
tape came off.
Anyway I am not patient enough to wait for it to dry so
I just put tape down in different patterns
and painted over it.

Start with a blank canvas (duh)

I was doing this on my bathroom floor because
I was also coloring my hair :)

Added some tape and some paint.
I used different size washi tape to mix it up a bit.

Finished painting it, let it dry and
then took the tape off.
I don't really love the tape design I chose.
I should have created straight lines and
tried not to blend it on some parts.
I also should have really squared the center purple.
Now I am trying to choose a quote to go in the middle.

A. "Life is better when you are laughing"
B. Quiet people have the loudest minds"
C. "When it rains, look for rainbows.
When it's dark, look for stars"
D. "Today is the perfect day to be happy"

What do you think?

Summer Semester

Anyone taking summer classes?
Fun isn't it?
Yeah not really.
First, I like to shut my brain down
 when summer comes but,
I need this class before starting college in the fall.
But I am having some problems with my teacher.
The "pace" is up in the air except for the first two weeks,
you have to have submitted 6 assignments.
Which to me sounds like 6 lessons.
Friday night week 2 I am ready to finish my last two
lessons when the next three don't have submissions.
Literally three lessons with 10-16 pages each and
nothing to submit.
Ridiculous.
Mostly because the pace chart/syllabus
says week 1: lessons 1.01, 1.02, 1.03
Week 2 :Lessons 1.04, 1.05, 1.06.
But they want you to be on lesson 1.10 by week 2.
It really is crazy. Then I finally get done with these
lessons and I'm ready for a test, but no.
I have to write an argumentative essay.
In a MATH CLASS!
I don't like math.
So I write it and I use Prezi presentations,
but my teacher says I can't use Prezi,
even though the lesson said it was an option.
So I am not doing well in the class,
But I do this talk to the teacher evaluation
and ace it.
This is my problem.
I'm really good at (pardon the french)
BS-ing those type of assignments.

So my summer has been filled with crafts,
fundraisers, and terrible math classes.

How is your summer?
Best Wishes

More Crafting and DIY

I've been on this crafting kick lately
and I love it.
I am also running out of space on my
walls for all of my wonderful crafts.
Anyway I bought a scrap booking paper of the USA
(cause that's where I live)
and used my Hobby Lobby discount
to buy some 12" by 12" cork tiles.
I apologize about the terrible picture taking
skills. I'm working on it.
Anyway I bought the map paper and put it
(using tape) on the cork tiles.
No trimming because they are they same size.

I put some pins in on the places I've been.

I have a tendency to travel the eastern side.
I told my sister that the west is settled now
and we don't have to pack a covered wagon to travel.

That's what I did today.
I also am waiting for my brother to finish building
me a shelf (its been six months, but I'm still hopeful)
anyway I am prepping my room for the bookshelf
and its a mess. But I am usually a mess :)

Best wishes!
