Projected Projects

I have so many projects that I want to do this year.
Pinterest has become dangerous to even go on. The humor page even has DIY's.
So I thought it would be good to round up all the top contenders and put them together to keep track and remind myself.
1.  Bath Bombs and other soaps. I've gotten some from my sisters when they made them but I've never done it and it seems fun and easy.
2. Washi Tape has gotten really popular in designs and colors but some people don't know what to do with it. I really want to try these picture frames.
3. These light strands are adorable and look super easy.

4. This little banner is super cute and looks really simple

5. This is high on my list because it is basic and fun. Make your pictures look like Polaroids by printing them out with an edit (easy to find on Instagram) and glue the onto white paper.

6. I tried painting the outside of bottles and it went pretty well but I really want to try pouring the paint in.

7. I have a bunch of canvases that I got on sale at Walmart and I think this is what I am going to do to them. In all the same colors but different sizes.

8. I have had "make a quilt" on my craft to do list for a couple of years now. But it is definitely on the list for 2015. I just have to find a pattern and a sewing machine.

9. My Sister is a gardener so the plants won't be hard to get the I'm on the lookout for a nice big glass vase.
10. Giant Scrabble! I want to make it so bad. I am just waiting for my parents to give me permission to do it in the yard :)

This is how I study

Friday has brought me a big exam that I was dreading so I decided to prep all day for it.
I started with sleeping in until 9:30am,
watching netflix and cooking food until 5pm and then taking a bath til 6pm.
And that is why I didn't do very well on the test.
But I was thinking about all the things you need for a perfect bath.
1. Hot Water, not burning hot but enough to soothe your muscles .
2. Bubbles, lots and lots of bubbles.
3. Music, Nice relaxing music or something to sing along to.
4. Entertainment, I like a book but feel free to bring in your phone to watch or play games.
5.Nail tools. Face it your nails could use a little love right now.
6. A scrub. Either for your feet or body scrap away the old and say hello to beautiful skin.
7. Face Mask. Get rid of tired lines and calm your facial muscles with this.
And there you have it! The perfect bubble bath.
What do you do to relax?

Fashion Tips

Drum roll please!!!!
 (Insert drum roll here)

Fashion is supposed to be unique to every person. Sure there are some whose ideas will cross over into someone else's ideas but fashion is meant to be unique and creative and to push the bounds of creativity. So I've gathered a few generic fashion tips to inspire you....

1. When looking for that perfect party dress don't be afraid to go bold.
You want everyone in the room to be talking about you right?
Bold colors, bold fabric, bold look and you are the queen.
Example below..

2. Skin is sexy but you don't need to show everything all the time. Consider a more modest approach to switch things up a bit...
Example...

3. Get creative with your material.
Liven things up with an unusual medium, show what really inspires you...

4. It's all about what you like.
Use your wardrobe to reflect your likes and dislikes.
Display your favorites things in bold ways...

5. Don't be shy about mixing patterns its totally in right now.
Stripes and polka dots, chevron and zig zags, beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

Style is what you make it! best of luck

P.S also stay on top of the trends you wouldn't want to be out of fashion.

Procrastination

When it comes to procrastination I may be the best.
In fact I would have gone to the Olympics I'm so good at it. Unfortunately its a bad habit
(or so they tell me) and I'm trying to break it and work harder at getting things one on time, or at all.
So I've put together some tips on avoiding being the fantastic procrastinator that I am.

1. Make a list.

Make an honest list that categorizes your needs.
Make sure to put some easy ones down to,
this will help give positive reinforcement to your new habit!
Get creative with your list, pick something that you want to do for the week such as, smile at a strange, say hi to the guy at the store, tell my family how much I love them , buy a spontaneous gift for my best friend. These will give you something to look forward to, after you've done all the mundane tasks.

2. Reward Yourself
When you've made it through your list reward yourself. It doesn't have to be fancy or expensive just something special, Paint your nails, do your hair, buy a new book, spend a girls night with a friend, go out, try something new. The list is endless and making it to the end of yours deserves something special. Just don't reward yourself prematurely. Make sure you honestly worked for your prize, it makes it even better when you truly earn it.

3. Share with a Friend

Chances are your friends are struggling too.
Ask them to keep you accountable and you will do the same for them. Team work will help a lot.

4. It's okay to say no sometimes

It's a busy time in your life sometimes, it's okay to say no or ask for a rain check. As harsh as it sounds you don't always get to do things. Learning that now will save a lot of time and energy. Rescheduling might be better. Also it might remind your friends that they need to get the important stuff done first.

The Giver-2015 Book challenge

2015 Book Challenge

For the first book of the 2015 book challenge I read The Giver by Lois Lowry. I loved it!
The writing was fantastic the story line challenging and different, she is a very talented author.

The Giver is about a young boy who lives in a world of sameness. No color, no emotions, no choice. Everything is planned out. Families are made in incubators and creative thought is beyond comprehension. Any disagreement is punishable by "release" which is just a word meant to disguise the fact that they will kill you if you don't follow the rules.
Until Jonas is chosen to be the Receiver of knowledge. He is chosen to be the keeper of all memories, memories of the past when there was war and peace, love and hate, and even Christmas. Is this book about rebelling against the "man" or is about choosing to look past what is the normal, what is pushed as the best option. Is this book to inspire revolt or to ask you to look beyond what everyone else sees and believes and to choose to believe for yourself.

The Giver marks off A book that became a movie of my list.

Any suggestions for a book with more than 500 pages or a classic romance?

Blank Canvas

All week I've had a literal blank canvas staring at me and I knew that I wanted to do something to it this weekend. Officially the weekend has just started but my project is complete.

I outlined a J because I wanted to personalize it.
I think I'll add more to it in a couple of days when it is completely dry.

Also I found Hugh Jackman while looking through magazines. One of my favorite Actors.

My (almost) finished piece!
Not the Mona Lisa but I'm happy with it.

Easy Life Hacks

Every site claims to have life hacks you can't live without. But most of them require either stuff you don't have problems with or, to many steps that your simple life just became chaotic. So I've gathered some real simple life hacks.

Is your charger getting lost in the pile of plain white Iphone chargers? Nail polish can fix it! Just a simple stripe or cover it all creatively this life hack will save some stress. And this is easy enough to do while binge watching your favorite TV shows.

Tired of your clothes but not ready to shop for more? Ask some friends to do a swap. Each person brings 1 or 2 items. (different sizes can work too, cold weather and big sweaters are a great combo)
This can even be done with shoes, jewelry, and bags.

Summer can include sunglasses and cover ups

Grab the nail polish again because this one is fantastic!
Even if you can tell apart your keys, this one is fun and stylish.
While your nails dry grab a key and get creative!

This one is less stylish but a good idea....

Happy Hacking!

Busy Days All Around

Today is Wednesday, one of my busiest days. From work, school, church, and dance I'm barely home. I enjoy every second though. But on days like today when its easy to get sucked into the fast paced flow of the day take a second for yourself. Take a deep breathe and start again, it can make a stressful situation much better. (Insert Awesome Picture Here)
P.S Pinterest is the best!

2015 Book Challenge

If your anything like me you love to read. My only problem has been what do I read? Fiction or nonfiction, thriller, mystery, biography, memoir, historical, romance. The possibilities are endless, I guess that is why I love it so much You don't have to choose just one. It's what brings so many people together, the vastness of books. So for 2015 I am accepting the book challenge.
First book The Giver by Lois Lowry

“A room without books is like a body without a soul.”
