Let's Blame Pinterest

Once again I tried to be artsy and do a Pinterest "Easy DIY" yeah, it didn't work. 

And I videoed it but again that is awful so here are some screen grabs and a terrible Pinterest fail. 

I was going for something like this: 

Easy enough right? Washi tape and paint how could I possible mess that up. 

Just watch...

Already things look sketchy. 

Now spray paint 

And this is where we crash landed. 

So I thought paint with paint. 

Yeah... 

Okay not bad so far...

Yeah so that was an utter failure and I don't even have tips to do it the right way.

Paper Dahlia Wreath

This is by far my favorite creation. 

Finished Product: 

I'm in love, the thing is huge so its hard to find a place for it. 

Step by Step!

Depending on the size you want it, cut squares, I used 6in x 6in. I also used several colors to give it an ombre effect. 
Cut a cardboard circle, again the bigger your circle the bigger you need your squares. I used hot glue to make it faster. 
Size wise, your first layer of squares will hang on the cardboard by 1.5 or 2 inches. 
Like this:

This is row 1 and 2, which we will get to. 
Your first row if you have multiple colors needs to be spaced apart to allow room for the second row. 

(If you are wondering about the interesting photos, I videoed this but lost parts, and didn't feel like editing 40mins of bad footage.) 

Now, add your layers, either changing colors or staying with the same. 

Glue layer by layer, eventually they will stack at a higher angle. 

Keep stacking until you get to the center, this is when you almost have to bend the ends of the cone to stand upright. You will have one in the exact center.

While I was on my little hiatus I made like 5 videos but most of them got deleted or I lost them. 

So here are some pictures of some of the things I made.

Rolling Pin and Paint Canvas

So I put some stencils on this canvas and paint and just rolled over it using a rolling pin. Yeah, it was not a good idea but my rolling pin has a really cool design on it now.

Updated Apps Review

Have you had random App updates lately?

Instagram now has hashtags come up when typing,

giving suggestions and showing the number of 

times that hashtag has been used on IG. 

Also Pinterest now has trending when you 

search for something. 

And they have colors for how popular it is, 

deeper the color = more people looking that up. 

Snapchat removed their tap and hold 

and now it is just tap. 

Which is kind of strange, it changes a lot. 

Snapchat also added some new filters, 

Along with the color changing edits, 

they now have location banners, 

holiday banners, and a strange battery. 

Not sure about the battery one but I like the others. 

Tumblr is very proud to have "added Chinese translations

and reduced the number of crashes."

You can now get a  notification

 when your favorite blog posts. 

There is a little human on their page you tap to follow. 

Speaking of notifications, 

Netflix has joined the game, 

when a new season has been added to a show in 

your list a push notification (if they are enabled) 

will pop up, If not, a small bell on the top bar in the app 

will have a little number show up. 

Twitter did a little redesign recently, 

changing the way to switch between accounts, 

they have also been working 

on the discover and search areas. 

Pandora says they now have a feature where 

you can hum a tune using SoundHound. 

Which now changes the game for Shazam and 

siri, who recently was able to "name that tune"

Facebook Messenger, 

which in my opinion is useless, 

can now be used without a Facebook, 

but with only a phone number to sign up.

The Slump Part 2

I am going to assume you did not read part 1.

Shame on you, really you should be ashamed you did not read my rant on how my life is in a slump

(I hope my sarcasm is being conveyed)

Netflix.

Need I say more? 

On Tuesday Netflix US posted on Twitter that 

"Netflix members have watched 10 billion hours last quarter"

I think I may be responsible for 1/5 of that. 

I love my Netflix. 

But as I said in The Slump post (have your read it yet?

I felt in a rut last week. 

Mundane, lifeless, dull were the words that came to mind when I thought of my past days. 

I lived vicariously through TV characters with the 

chance at experiences and adventures. 

I really like mystery and sassy leading ladies, 

Funny best friends and quirky family members. 

Blood pumping sports and cultural meals.

But I was done with just watching

I wanted to live a life full of

 my own quirky characters and funny best friends.

I want to be the hardworking and sassy leading lady.

I gave up Netflix for the week. 

Although I picked up reading again

(Like 7 books in the last 6 days)

I think I've done a better job of living my life instead of watching fictional characters play out theirs. 

Have I done something crazy like 

kiss a stranger in an elevator?

No because that is weird an very unsanitary.

But I have spent more time talking 

with friends and family. 

Had some Thai food, 

Finished a math class, 

Went to Seaworld with my Nieces and Nephews,

Started blogging again and 

making plans to get things done. 

I even went to the gym....

Which says something.

Am I out of the Slump? 

Not quite but its progress.
